HomeSustainable developmentISPM-15 Standard

International standard for phytosanitary measures ISPM-15 for the processing of wood products in international trade.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has issued guidelines for the handling of wood-based materials used to transport products between countries. Its main purpose is to prevent and spread diseases and insects that can negatively affect plants or ecosystems.

ISPM-15 applies to all wood packaging materials (pallets, boxes, crates, etc.), requiring that they be unloaded and then heat treated or fumigated and marked with the conformity mark.

To avoid import difficulties, several companies require non-wood packaging from their suppliers. Today ISPM-15 regulations have been introduced in many countries around the world, including the European Union and the United States.

Avoid additional processing costs, use cardboard packaging.
